Camera: A Sony That Is Thin, Fast and Rugged

Sony recently introduced a new model of ultra-thin cameras: the Cyber-shot T-series (DSC-TX200V). Not only is this camera very thin, it is also the aim-and-shoot camera with the highest resolution. Filled with technical features that exceed the competition, the Sony TX200V is also wrapped in a durable casing that protects it from the external elements.

The 18.2 megapixel Exmor R sensor will surprise you. This is the resolution we are used to finding on the SLR models, now available for the first time in this category of compact cameras. The unique capabilities of the sensor, along with the new BIONZ image processing system, give clear results and show minimal noise.

To properly see the results, you can use the TruBlack 3.3-inch OLED screen on the back of the Cyber-shot. Directly from the unit, you can make changes, add personalized elements or program grouped effects. As all this is done from the touch screen, it almost seems like your handling a smartphone.

The metal case and rugged design of the Sony TX200V make it resistant to shock, dust, cold and water (5 metres).

Finally, the automatic focus provides breathtaking performance: 0.13 seconds in daylight or a fast 0.25 seconds in darker conditions.

The Sony TX200V will be available in February or March and offered in red, silver or purple. Price: $ 500.
